We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Project Engineer position will assist and support Project Manager and Superintendents in coordinating and managing underground utility construction projects. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards

Responsibilities

  • Attend pre-construction meetings for projects
  • Ability to review and comprehend project plans, specifications, and contract requirements, and updating and modifying the same throughout the course of the project.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of purchase orders, purchase order modifications, subcontracts, subcontract modifications, and requests for information (RFI’s).
  • Assist with tasks required to develop the maintenance of budgets. This includes reviewing field time sheets, material invoices, and monitoring job progress
  • Assist the Project Manager and Superintendents with material procurement and coordination.
  • Help update construction documents, and distribute to vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors throughout the life cycle of a project.
  • Travel to conduct site visits to assist in monitoring progress and maintaining quality control.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with General Contractors, engineers, designers, and other external project team members.

Qualifications

  • Construction Management degree helpful but not required or a Related field experience a plus.
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in underground utilities preferred.
  • Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, and specs.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed (San Diego Area).
