• Location: Ann Arbor, MI 48109 (Michigan nursing jobs)\n
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)\n
• Role: ECMO Specialist Registered Nurse\n
• Employment Type: Travel Contract\n
• Start Date: November 17, 2025\n
• End Date: February 16, 2026\n
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks\n
• Nursing Shift: Day shifts, 12 hours (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)\n
• Hours per Week: Average 32 (alternating 36 hours one week, 24 hours the next)\n
• Weekend Coverage: 2 weekends per 4-week scheduling period\n
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 (occasionally 1:2 for pediatric circuits, 1:3 in adults with remote monitoring)\n
• Charting System: Epic EMR\n
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2470–$2540\n

\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n

\n
• Minimum 1 year of recent ECMO specialist experience in an urban or academic medical center\n
• Active Michigan RN license (required for Michigan healthcare jobs)\n
• BLS certification (must be obtained prior to start date)\n
• Epic charting experience required\n
• Two professional references from managers or supervisors\n
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)\n
• First-time travel nurses accepted with prior ECMO experience\n

\n\nCVICU Nurse Responsibilities\n

\n
• Deliver specialized care for patients on ECMO in the CVICU\n
• Manage patient ratios according to unit protocols (1:1, 1:2, 1:3)\n
• Administer blood products and monitor central venous pressure\n
• Care for patients post-cardiac surgery, including CABG and cardiac interventions\n
• Implement nurse-driven ECMO protocols and infection prevention measures\n
• Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and patient charting\n
• Participate in self-scheduling and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams\n
• Care for a diverse patient population: neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, and adults\n
