Overview

Software/Applications Architect/Developer/Engineer at Cleared Solutions Inc. The role involves architecting, building, maintaining, deploying, and administering mission software and web applications distributed across networks to collect, process, store, search, visualize, or deliver mission data. The development environment is fast-paced, full-stack, and increasingly leverages agile methodologies, Dev(Sec)Ops tools and processes, and expanding cloud-based infrastructure. Responsibilities may include identifying system scope and objectives, designing, coding, testing, documenting, preparing detailed specifications, contributing to security authorization documentation, representing the program in design reviews and demonstrations, and mentoring junior developers.

Qualifications

• Clearance: U.S. Citizenship with active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
• Degree: Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field
• Certifications: None required
• Experience: Minimum 7 years (with minimum 3 years in the IC) developing, securing, integrating, deploying, maintaining, and evaluating software and systems

Knowledge/Skills/Expertise

We seek candidates with demonstrated experience in multiple programming languages, layers of the application stack, and modern integration techniques. Areas of experience may include:

• Architecting and leading the development and integration of complex and secure information systems
• Directing software/system engineers in applying system engineering principles to secure design
• Full lifecycle software/application development with modern agile practices
• Object-oriented programming and design patterns
• Programming Languages: Java, JavaScript, Python, C/C++, JSON, PHP, Perl, SQL, Scala, Groovy, Ruby, Pig/Hive, Elixir, XML
• Frameworks: Angular, React, ExtJS, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate
• Architectural Styles: REST, Microservices, SOA, Event-Driven
• Cloud: AWS and Microsoft Azure (including DoD/IC contexts and related services)
• Containers: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Ansible
• Data Ingestion/ETL: Spark, NiFi, Kafka, Flink, ActiveMQ
• Databases/Indexing/Analytics: PostgreSQL, RDS, Oracle, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Spark
• Security Integration: IAM, auditing/logging, VPC, PKI, and related security services
• Authentication: LDAP, OAuth, AWS STS, Active Directory
• Infrastructure: AWS/C2S, OpenStack, Cisco technologies, CloudFormation, CloudTrail, CloudWatch
• DevOps/DevSecOps: Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Ansible, GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket, CI/CD tooling, TDD methodologies

Responsibilities

As part of project teams, you will:

• Architect and lead development and integration of complex, secure systems
• Guide software and systems engineers in applying system engineering to secure designs
• Engage in full software development lifecycle using agile practices
• Develop detailed specifications and contribute to security authorization documentation
• Represent the program in design reviews and demonstrations
• Mentor junior developers
