Job Title: Mold Mitigation, Water Damage, and Sanitation Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mold Mitigation, Water Damage, and Sanitation Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for responding to residential and commercial property damage, including water intrusion, mold contamination, and sanitation needs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on restoration experience, a strong understanding of safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in fast-paced and often challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform water damage restoration, including extraction, drying, and dehumidification.
- Identify, remove, and treat mold-contaminated areas in accordance with industry standards (IICRC, OSHA, EPA guidelines).
- Conduct sanitation and disinfection services for affected areas, ensuring safe and habitable conditions.
- Operate and maintain specialized equipment such as air scrubbers, dehumidifiers, negative air machines, and HEPA vacuums.
- Perform demolition and removal of non-salvageable building materials as required.
- Monitor job progress with moisture mapping, readings, and detailed documentation.
- Communicate clearly with clients, supervisors, and team members regarding project status.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including the use of PPE and hazard containment procedures.
- Complete required documentation, including work orders, job reports, and photographs.
- Assist in emergency response situations, including after-hours and weekend calls on a rotating schedule.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- IICRC certifications in Water Damage Restoration (WRT), Applied Microbial Remediation (AMRT), or related (preferred but not required—willing to train).
- Previous experience in mold remediation, water damage restoration, construction, or related field (preferred).
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in confined spaces, and tolerate varying environmental conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
Work Environment:
- Field-based role with daily travel to job sites.
- Exposure to wet/damp environments, mold, biohazards, and construction debris.
- Use of protective gear required (respirators, gloves, suits, etc.).
