Job Description

We are seeking a junior network engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This person will be responsible for planning, building, and maintaining both physical and virtual networks, including LANs, WANs, and cloud-based systems. This involves configuring devices like routers and switches, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and optimizing network performance. Primary Responsibilities Perform administration and configuration of all network equipment, including but not limited to firewalls, switches, and wireless access points Participate in planning design, technical review and implementation for new network infrastructure hardware and network operating systems for voice and data communication networks Design solutions with other teams to support new or updated technologies Monitor and assist in managing network infrastructure (firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points) Provide desktop support in a Windows environment with some network experience Assist in implementing and maintaining network and security policies, procedures, and configurations Support incident response efforts by identifying, analyzing, and escalating potential security threats Maintain user access controls, permissions, and authentication systems Perform basic vulnerability scans and support patch management Monitor network and security logs for unusual or unauthorized activity Assist in maintaining documentation for network diagrams, configurations, and standard procedures Support internal audits and compliance efforts (e.g., HIPAA, PCI, or ISO 27001 if applicable) Collaborate with senior security analysts/administrators to remediate system vulnerabilities Skills/Qualifications 1+ years of hands-on experience or strong academic background in networking and/or security (internships acceptable) Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls Familiarity with security concepts such as authentication, encryption, and endpoint protection Strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to learn new technologies Ability to analyze network performance data and identify areas for improvement Ability to work under direction and escalate issues appropriately Excellent problem-solving, organizational skills, and detailed orientation Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate and convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Results-oriented with high attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment Benefits Summary Healthcare coverage starting at $0 out of pocket for individuals HSA with annual company contribution ($200/individual, $350/family) Vision and Dental offered Deep discounts on supplemental plans (LTD, Critical illness, Hospital stay and Accident) $50K life and AD&D coverage at no charge 401K with 100% match for first 3% and 50% match for the next 2% contributed (up to a 5% match) Unlimited PTO policy Compensation: $60,000-$80,000/yr Seniority level Entry level Employment type Full-time Job function Sales, General Business, and Education #J-18808-Ljbffr Advyzon
