Position Overview
The Industrial Mechanic plays a critical role in maintaining the reliability, safety, and performance of production and facility equipment within a high-throughput manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on position focused on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems, as well as supporting equipment installations and continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly, works well alongside production teams, and approaches maintenance with a safety-first mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on industrial equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems
- Diagnose equipment issues and complete timely, effective repairs to minimize downtime and production interruptions
- Support the installation, commissioning, and startup of new machinery in accordance with safety requirements and manufacturer specifications
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage within a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Partner with production and operations teams to resolve equipment issues and improve overall equipment reliability
- Follow all safety procedures, regulatory requirements, and internal maintenance standards
- Complete general facility maintenance as needed, including basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work
- Respond promptly to urgent or emergency maintenance requests
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area at all times
- Participate in training and skill-development initiatives to stay current with equipment and best practices
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience working as an industrial or maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems, with exposure to hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical components
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including schematics, manuals, and blueprints
- Strong troubleshooting skills with attention to detail and follow-through
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including overtime, weekends, or on-call rotations as needed
