Position Summary: CD International is seeking a dedicated and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in High River, AB. This full-time position is crucial to our operations, responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of our fleet of heavy equipment and trucks. The ideal candidate is a skilled professional with strong diagnostic abilities and a commitment to ensuring the safety and reliability of our vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform skilled diagnostics, maintenance, and repair on a variety of heavy-duty trucks and equipment, including diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems.

  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and service to ensure all equipment operates at peak performance and in compliance with safety standards.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using both manual and computer-based diagnostic tools.

  • Execute repairs, parts replacement, and rebuilds as necessary.

  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, parts used, and inspections completed.

  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and provincial regulations.

  • Collaborate effectively with the transport and operations teams to minimize downtime and ensure timely completion of projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Heavy Equipment Technician Journeyperson certification in Alberta (or a Red Seal Endorsement) .

  • Proven experience (e.g., 3-5+ years) as a Heavy Duty Mechanic in a professional setting.

  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

  • Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and tools.

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals.

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license (Class 1 or 3 is a plus).

  • Ability to lift heavy components and perform physically demanding tasks.
