Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Physician/Medical Director to join our small, independent Emergency Medicine group. Our team staffs the Emergency Department at a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH) that provides comprehensive care, including inpatient, outpatient, 24-hour staffed emergency care, ambulatory care, and select specialty services. The Emergency Department features 12 beds and serves approximately 13,500 patients annually. Located just 1.5 hours from Boston and the Atlantic Ocean, and less than a half hour from hiking and skiing, our hospital offers an ideal balance of rural charm and access to urban and recreational amenities.

Position Overview

• Role: Full-time/Part-time Emergency Physician with Medical Director responsibilities.
• Group: Small, independent, and democratically run Emergency Medicine group.
• Location: Rural setting with proximity to urban centers and outdoor activities.
• Qualifications: Board-certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or Internal
• Medicine/Family Practice (IM/FP) with relevant emergency medicine experience. Shifts: 12-hour shifts (8A-8P/8P-8A) with 12-hour mid-level provider coverage (10A-10P). Flexible scheduling with options for primarily day, night, or mixed shifts based on preference.
• Leadership Opportunity: Serve as Medical Director.
