Job Description
Position: Lead Corporate Project Buyer
This position is responsible for overseeing and optimizing our procurement operations in North America. This role is responsible for managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, developing new vendors, supporting purchasing teams at the plants, and ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
- Manage procurement processes for indirect and direct spending categories.
- Lead sourcing, vendor evaluation, and contract negotiation efforts.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality and service expectations.
- Work closely with manufacturing plants to assess procurement needs and ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate with the purchasing team at headquarter in China.
- Analyze market trends to forecast purchasing patterns and identify cost-savings opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3-5+ years of experience in corporate purchasing or procurement management.
- Experience in sourcing metal and stamping products.
- Previous experience with the procurement of stamped metal parts.
- Preferred with experience in rubber mixing and chemical industry.
Qualifications:
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency with SAP.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills

- Work environment consists of office environment.
- This position is based at our Northville MI office. On-site role – remote work is not available.
- Continually required to talk or hear.
- Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk.
- Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
- Occasionally required to bend, stoop, kneel and lift up to 25 pounds.
