The Columbus Electrical Project Manager will strengthen Garber as a frontrunner in the electrical industry by supporting our field employees and accommodating our customers' requests to maintain productive and profitable job sites.
Supervisory Responsibilities - Manage service electricians and project managers along with day-to-day workload
- Assist in overall service performance, accuracy in project installation & completion along with project accountability
- Review upcoming and ongoing projects and workload schedules with project managers, sales associates, and dispatcher
- Perform annual performance evaluations of field employees
- Review project analysis reports with service project managers monthly to evaluate progress
Duties/Responsibilities
- Review new projects with sales associates and customers
- Project coordination such as acquiring electrical plans, permits, purchasing of materials, electrical distribution and lighting packages, scheduling with local electrical providers and inspection agencies, reserving electrical tools/equipment to be used on projects
- Document and enforce Garber Electric company policies
- Project coordination throughout all projects with customer and service team members
- Supervise assigned direct reporting employees and project managers in the service division
- Ability to track project costs, approve invoices in an appropriate time frame, create change orders for projects, and fully execute
- Project closeout documents, final inspections, punch lists, warranty letters, as-built drawings, and project turnover to customers
- Follow up on all warranty items associated to a given project
- Any other duties that might be assigned
- Project Managing may require working on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift and overseeing these projects as needed
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Extensive knowledge of NEC codes
- Continued education for NEC code changes
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with interpreting plan & spec project documents
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Education and Experience
- Five years of related field experience required
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to use or access step ladders, man lifts, stairs, and prolonged periods of standing and walking projects
- Must be able to lift-up to 50 pounds at a time
