Job Description

Clinical Counselor

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 10:00 AM – 8:30 PM (4-day workweek)
Status: Salary / Exempt
Reports to: Clinical Supervisor

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Counselor to provide high-quality counseling services to clients with substance use and/or mental health diagnoses. This position offers a consistent 4-day workweek schedule, giving you three-day weekends while allowing you to make a lasting impact on individuals and families in our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling services according to state and agency guidelines.

  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and create individualized person-centered service plans.

  • Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based practices.

  • Monitor and respond to signs of alcohol or drug intoxication and withdrawal.

  • Provide crisis intervention and coordinate medically necessary services.

  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.

  • Support family involvement in treatment when appropriate.

  • Participate in clinical supervision, quality improvement activities, and peer review.

  • Administer medications per provider orders (training provided) and perform UDS screenings as needed.

Qualifications

  • Required Licensure: LCAS, LCSW, LCMHC, or LMFT.

  • Master’s degree in human services or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

  • Valid NC or SC Driver’s License.

  • Strong clinical skills, crisis intervention experience, and a commitment to ethical standards.

  • Proficiency in EHR systems and MS Office applications.
