Job Summary Job Purpose — Produces high quality decorated items and baked goods according to the company’s standard product offerings. Decorates cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies and other bakery items. Assists in the daily operations in the bakery department. Increases customer confidence and loyalty by promoting and executing consistent and compliant operating conditions. Provides fresh and appealing products, courteous, knowledgeable and prompt service. Essential Responsibilities Service (approx. 40%): Create an environment where customers feel welcome; ensure department is merchandised per plan; maintain product availability, freshness, quality and value; offer samples and assist customers with product questions and special orders; decorate merchandise per customer request; process customer orders efficiently. Financial (approx. 40%): Complete daily/weekly tasks; process/bake according to production guidelines; verify product quality and dates; manage inventory and rotate stock to ensure freshness and reduce waste; maintain proper temperature logs and food safety documentation. Leadership (approx. 10%): Promote trust and teamwork; guide the team to meet goals; adhere to laws and company guidelines. Compliance/Safety (approx. 10%): Maintain food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance; respond to recalls; ensure safe operations and reporting of hazards; enforce wage and hour policies; promote a culture of safety; ensure PPE use and equipment safety. Qualifications Education High School / GED Language Requirements English Spanish (preferred) Experience 0 - 3 years minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Must be 18 years of age Authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain Pre-employment drug testing and background check Strong customer service, interpersonal, motivational and communication skills Basic math, ability to handle stressful situations Operate bakery equipment (slicer, oven, scale, knives, price gun) per guidelines Proficient with department computer applications; Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain within 180 days Other Job Details Travel: Occasional; Floater role may require travel to assigned stores (up to 80% for some positions) Shifts: Varied shifts Responsibilities Noted by Role Provide continuous attention to guest needs; greet and assist with courtesy Maintain display quality and quantity; offer product suggestions Receive/unload deliveries; stock and rotate products; minimize waste Operate department equipment; maintain clean, safe work areas; report hazards Perform other job-related duties as assigned #J-18808-Ljbffr Southeastern Grocers
