We are seeking a Behavior Support Specialist to join our team! You will provide services in an individual settings, supporting one client in meeting the demands of independence.

Responsibilities:

• Establish open lines of communication for client and other staff;

• Offer assistance to client to meet individual needs and when attempting to perform basic life skills and ordinary household tasks;

• Provide prevention-oriented education to client and community members;

• Implement and review treatment plan and Individyap Service Plan and implement strategies to meet specific goals;

• Collaborate with additional providers and agencies

• Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in mental health, acute psychiatric car, behavior support, or other related fields

• Familiarity with community resources

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills

• Ability to build rapport with client

• Strong leadership qualities

• Exceptional reliability

SLS provides customized, 1:1 or 2:1 support to help a person live in:

It’s NOT a congregate facility — it’s community-based support in the client’s own home.

What SLS Does

Staff help with anything the person cannot safely do alone, such as:

Daily living
\t•\tbathing, hygiene, dressing
\t•\tcooking and meal prep
\t•\thousehold chores
\t•\tshopping
\t•\ttransportation

Health & safety
\t•\tmedication support
\t•\tmedical appointments
\t•\tmonitoring behaviors
\t•\tkeeping the person safe at home and in the community

Behavioral support
\t•\tcrisis intervention
\t•\tcalming strategies
\t•\tpreventing self-harm or aggression
\t•\thelping the client regulate emotions

Life skills
\t•\tbudgeting
\t•\tpaying bills
\t•\tlearning routines
\t•\tbuilding independence over time

What Makes SLS Different from Other Programs

✔️ It is individualized

Every client has their own plan, staff, schedule, and support model.

✔️ It promotes maximum independence

The goal is NOT to “take over,” but to help the person do as much as possible on their own.

✔️ It can be 24/7, but does not have to be

Hours range from a few hours a week to full 24/7 staffing, including awake or asleep overnight if needed.

✔️ It is client-directed

The adult receiving services has choice and control, unless they have a conservator.

✔️ It serves people with more complex needs, including:
